Back in 2016, when the market barely knew of the existence of this type of tequila-based liqueurs, in Licores y Derivados, we firmly bet on these products, launching Maxica Tequila Cream. This bet has been rewarded every year by a constant increase in sales, even in spite of the numerous alternatives that other manufacturers now offer in view of their success.
Because consumers have embraced the Maxica brand, we continue to be proud leaders in our segment.
Tequila is a beverage of ancestral origin, which has been produced since the 16th century - approximately 1538 - and takes its name from the region where it was born: Tequila Jalisco. In the first decades after the conquest, the beverage was born as a fermented product of the agave plant and later, with its Arab and Hispanic influence, it was distilled in stills introduced to the continent. For many years it was known as mezcal wine or mezcal tequila, since mezcal was one of the names of the agave plant.
Tequila comes from a plant of the agavaceae family, which is the blue agave tequilana Weber variety. There are about 295 different agave species and only one can be used to produce the beverage.
